Podcast Setup Checklist

We all love good stories! With heart, let your stories captivate our community, unfolding like mini-movies, rich in sights, sounds, scents, and textures. To allow this to happen, here is a brief checklist to set up the space for magic. ✨

🔲 Secure Reliable Internet.

This is important for a smooth chat! Ideally, a wired connection provides a more reliable internet experience.

🔲 Chrome Browser with at least 5GB (5000MB) Memory

The podcast will be recorded in live time, which requires a browser with available storage. You can follow this guide to check available browser storage. Also, please close any extra browser tabs to conserve processing power for the recording.

🔲 Visual Storytelling (Screen Share)

Humans love visual stories. We encourage you to share stories by sharing a PowerPoint slide or a curated video. You can follow this guide to share the screen during recording. (Some features in this guide such as checking and downloading recordings only apply to the studio host)

🔲 Position 1 or 2 white LED lamps in front of you

Ample lighting makes us look good on camera. If we are recording during the daytime, you can position your laptop directly facing a big window. Natural sunlight can be a good alternative lighting source.

🔲  Find a plain or simple background

To help the audience differentiate you from the background, position yourself against a plain wall/curtain or a library of books, and wear dark clothing for a light background, or vice versa. 

🔲 Position Camera At/Slightly Above Eye Level

Positioning at this level makes you “Look up“ our audience. This position helps build trust and fosters genuine connections. It’s also recommended to position your head at 2/3 of the total screen height for optimal effect.

🔲 Quality Microphone in a Quiet Space

Investing in a good mic will help our audience hear your voice better. Quality voice creates intimacy.

🔲 Wireless Earbuds

Wireless earbuds will make you look stylish without looking bulky with headphones. If you prefer not to use headphones, as you enter the virtual podcast studio, please select “I am not using headphones.”

🔲  Mute Notifications

It will help create a calm and purely magical space for all of us.

🔲  Bring Water

Remember to bring some water to stay hydrated!
